With Resident Evil 3 Remake is scheduled to release on April 3rd, Capcom has announced that players will be able to see the game for themselves a bit earlier with the playable demo available for PS4, Xbox One and PC players on March 19th. Shortly after that, on March 27th, players will be able to hop into an open beta for Resident Evil Resistance.
We’re excited to announce that this highly anticipated demo for Resident Evil 3 is just a few days away. Featuring a slice of the full game that launches on April 3rd, you’ll step into the shoes of Jill Valentine as she attempts to make a desperate escape from Raccoon City as it rapidly descends into chaos. While there’s a bit more focus on action in Resident Evil 3 compared to last year’s Resident Evil 2, you won’t want to go in guns blazing – it may be a demo, but you’ll need to conserve your ammo and items if you want to stand a chance of surviving. We don’t want to spoil the fun of letting you all explore the demo on your own, so get ready for a quick trip to Raccoon City on March 19th!
RE3R is considered a complete remake and reimagining of the RE3: Nemesis that was originally released in 1999. Players will follow Jill Valentine as she tries to escape Raccoon City while fighting her way through hordes of zombies. Developers have indicated that the Remake version will stick as closely as possible to its original source but that things may play out slightly differently in the reimagined version. RE3R will include RE: Resistance, a new 1v4 online multiplayer game set in the same universe.
