Respawn Entertainment’s general manager for Apex Legends Dusty Welch and the game’s director Chad Grenier have participated in a large interview with Game Informer. One of the questions answered during the chat was an issue of console crossplay:
“I think on crossplay we see it’s something that is kind of expected in the industry and is important to a game like ours,” Welch said. “Chad and I are obviously big fans of playing our game at work and in our free time — and we go home on a Friday or weekend and want to play with each other and we’re on different systems. On a personal level, yes, we’d love to do that and party up on the weekends. I think it’s an important thing to get to.”
Crossplay was a feature teased for Apex Legends since its launch but it is understandably hard to implement. In other Apex Legends related news, the developers have announced a new lore-based event coming to the game. Called The Old Ways, it allows players to follow Bloodhound’s trail and learn of the brutal training that a scared youth must undergo to become a fearsome hunter.
Join the hunt in the next installment of our Stories from the Outlands short films, “The Old Ways.” In a village that has rejected the hubris of machines, a child is sent into the wilds in a lethal rite of passage. But they soon realize they are more hunted than hunter. Learn the truth of the Old Ways and see a scared youth become the fearsome Bloodhound.
