Ressurecting Kel’Thuzad – The Full Documentary

During Gamescom 2017 Blizzard Entertainment introduced the latest Assassin to join the roster of Heroes of the Storm. It is no one other than the Archlich of the Naxxramas and the loyal servant of the Lich King, Kel’thuzad.The company has also released a spotlight video as well as trailer of what the lich brings to the game with him. However, the most interesting part came in a 5-part documentary dedicated to ressurecting Kel’thuzad. With the last video “The Lich Comes to Life”, the series is complete and you can watch through it fully.

Episode One: Honoring a Legacy shows how Heroes of the Storm team dealt with a work set forth by the hundreds of Blizzard employees that brought the villain to life over the past 20+ years.

Episode Two: Paper to Pixel spotlights early concept meetings and how the design and art teams started to flesh out Kel’thuzad’s bones.

Episode Three: Merging Art, Design, and Fantasy shows what it takes to capture the fantasy of an established character from an existing universe.

Episode Four: Finding the Fun. The developers take the watchers through the art and design iteration phases and show some of the steps these teams take to bring the most fun version of every Hero into the Nexus.

And the last but not the least Episode Five: The Lich Comes to Life. The video takes a look at what goes into putting the finishing touches on the Archlich of Naxxramas, including finding the perfect voice actor for Kel’Thuzad’s iconic and infamous lines.
