Runefest 2019 is about to return and this year things are going Prehistoric in this Land Out Of Time, and no we don’t mean Farnborough!
Once again Jagex and crew will bring Runescape and its army of Mods to Farnborough International Exhibition & Conference Centre for a weekend of games, Gielinor, and possibly the odd bit of paleontology. You see, this year Runescape’s fan fest is set to celebrate the prehistoric past, just as Runescape steps into the Land Out Of Time expansion.
Old and New
The Land Out Of Time expansion is possibly one of my favorite additions to the game I’ve seen, bringing a ton of new and inventive additions to this MMORPG. With giant dinosaurs to hunt, a gorgeous new world to explore, and an obstacle course for fast travel I can only imagine that we’re all going to need to limber up before we embark on this Jurrasic Lark.
The ninth annual Runefest celebration is taking place in Farnborough for the second consecutive year, and it is no wonder why. I was lucky enough to get a glimpse of the madness last year as thousands of attendees flocked into this arena. Despite a ton of space, games, and a mesmerizing orchestral performance at last year’s Runefest, Jagex is promising that this time will be even bigger than before. Attendees can expect:
- Massive game-changing announcements on the main stage.
- Talks and meetups with RuneScape ‘Jmod’ developers
- Hands-on time with new, exclusive RuneScape and OSRS content
- Community and developer-led panels,
- A large and dedicated LAN area
- An art area for meeting the creative teams, and more
Friday’s festivities will kick off the celebration with a red carpet evening, and don’t worry that doesn’t mean PvP, for the Golen Gnomes. This annual award night is a chance for Runescape players and Mods to recognize the best of Runescape and Old School Runescape’s community, honoring their achievements. You can find more details about this amazing event and get tickets over at the official Runefest website.
