Rise of the Tomb Kings Coming to Total War: Warhammer 2

On January 23rd, Total War: Warhammer 2 will be updated with a brand new campaign pack. Called Rise of the Tomb Kings, new content includes “Legendary Lords, unique mechanics and deep army roster”.

The action takes place in Nehekhara where “legions of skeletal warriors” and constructs have risen. The Tomb Kings have, according the press announcement, “awoken to rebuild their glorious empire”.

Players will find a new campaign experience with tons of race-specific mechanics, lore and victory objectives. Units include skeletons and stone constructs including the Tomb Scorpion, Necrosphinx and the massive Hierotitan.

Rather than focus on a “supplementary story campaign”, developers have added a pair of Legendary Lords with their own skills, traits, quests, wargear and challenges.

Players with both Eye of the Vortex campaign and Mortal Empires will be able to play the Tomb King factions too.

You can preorder the Tomb Kings DLC for $17.09 (10% off) on the official Steam page.

Rise of the Tomb Kings

  • 4 new playable Legendary Lords: Settra the Imperishable, High Queen Khalida, Grand Hierophant Khatep and Arkhan the Black
  • Gather the cursed Books of Nagash and win the battle for the Black Pyramid to achieve ultimate victory
  • Uncover the mysteries of the past by researching the Nehekharan Dynasties
  • Tap the Realm of Souls to regenerate your troops and summon Ushabti in battle
  • Combine exotic trade goods and Canopic Jars – the Tomb Kings’ unique resource – to craft magic items and raise fabled Legions of Legend at the Mortuary Cult
  • Comprehensive army roster featuring iconic units from the Warhammer Fantasy Battles world

Across the arid deserts of Nehekhara, vast legions of skeletal warriors rise from beneath the baking sands to slaughter those who trespass into their domain. It is a lifeless realm of endless dunes, stained red from the blood of savages and barbarians. This is the Land of the Dead, where mummified kings are cursed to rule in perpetual unlife. But it was not always thus.
