Roccat, the German based peripheral manufacturer, has unleashed a new addition to their arsenal of gaming gear in the form of the Roccat Vulcan Pro Optical-Tactile Keyboard.

What’s better than a great keyboard you ask? Turtle Beach’s peripheral division, Roccat, thinks it can answer your call with a new Pro Optical-Tactile version of the Vulcan keyboard lineup. The new Vulcan Pro Optical-Tactile variant is the latest desktop addition to the Roccat range and looks like it is going to bring a new level of choice to this particular brand of desktop weapon.

Feeling Good

The newly announced Roccat Vulcan pro pairs the new Vulcan Pro Optical-Tactile variant combines the ridiculously fast speed of Roccat’s own Titan Optical Switch technology with the brand’s tactile mechanical switch feeling. Doing away with the physical switches of more traditional systems, this new design purports response rates of up to 100 times faster than conventional mechanical switches and a significant boost in lifespan, without the wear and tear of physical keys.

After introducing its Titan Optical Switch technology last fall, this is the first time we’ve seen a tactile version of this switch, hopefully giving gamers the best of both worlds, with a long life span, speedy responses, and a 1.8 mm actuation point. This full size device also comes with a 100 million keystroke lifespan, a magnetically detachable palm rest, audio controls, 6 programmable macro keys, and plenty of other built in features that should stand it in good stead against the arsenal of other gaming keyboards we’ve tried.

You can check out more about the Roccat Vulcan Pro Optical-Tactile Keyboard over on the official website and pick it up now in US stores for around $199.99. EU consumers will have to wait a little longer for the new tactile variant of this keyboard range.
