Psyonix has announced that its powerhouse hit Rocket League is leaving Steam later this summer and is headed to the Epic Games Store as the exclusive home of the PC version of the game. Once the EGS version of the game launches, no new sales will be offered on Steam though the game will still be fully supported including cross-play and cross-platform progression between EGS and Steam. Those who have already purchased the game will be granted Legacy status and all earned content will be available regardless of which PC version they’re playing.
In addition to the move to EGS, Psyonix also announced that the game will be going completely free-to-play.
Anyone who has played the game online before the launch of free to play will be rewarded with Legacy status, which includes:
- All branded DLC released before free to play
- “Est. 20XX” title that displays the first year you played Rocket League
- 200+ Common items upgraded to “Legacy” quality
- Golden Cosmos Boost
- Dieci-Oro Wheels
- Huntress Player Banner
