Old school coaster sim RollerCoaster Tycoon® Classic is set to get a touchscreen update on Nintendo Switch
Atari has announced a new update for RollerCoaster Tycoon Classic. The upcoming adrenaline fueled business sim is set to get touch screen controls for the Nintendo Switch console, giving park managers a new way to experience this classic title.
After relaunching onto the Nintendo hybrid console in late 2024, players taking to the park grounds or planning a big dipper needed to navigate the throngs of digital humanity and thrill-seeking pixels with the analog Joycon sticks. Now you can swipe and prod the population of the theme park, cut through the menus, and place tracks with your fingertips. Use the Switch’s touch-screen controls to quickly access and adjust menus, place pathways and scenery, as well as construct amazing roller coasters.
The new update might not seem like much but it’s a welcome addition to an unexpected hit. Tycoon Classic combines the best features from two of the original games in the series: RollerCoaster Tycoon and RollerCoaster Tycoon 2. Packed with content, players have enjoyed designing and building roller coasters and rides, landscaping and managing their parks since the first game was first introduced in 1999. The forerunner to the likes of Park Beyond and Planet Coaster, this mix of humor, business, and thrill rides is waiting for a nostalgic twist to your daily gaming over on the Nintendo Switch Storefront now.
