Roll7 just dropped a new developer diary for upcoming action shooter Rollderdome that takes a deep look at the stunning soundtrack.
Ahead of the full launch of Rollerdrome on 16 August, Roll7 and Private Division have dropped a brand new dev diary, taking a sneaky look at the design of this stylishly brutal battler. In particular, we couldn’t keep our ears away from “The Sound of 2030”. In “The Sound of 2030” cult composer Electric Dragon shares his key inspirations for merging iconic 1970’s textures and sounds with modern day driving beats for Rollerdrome. Across more than three minutes, Electric Dragon dives into the blunt edge of the nineteen seventies and the retro future lens that focuses this vision of the future.
An accompanying dev diary also landed, over on the official YouTube channel, detailing the visual elements that make Rollerdrome so unique. In Characters & Comic Book Style of 2030 Character Artist Rachel Cox and Lead Artist Antoine Dekerle share insights on their work creating the various characters and world of Rollerdrome. This accompanying teaser for the full release looks at the design of the main protagonist, among other characters, and explains the process behind creating this serious newcomer to a brutal sport.
Both the new teasers are worth a watch if you’re looking to try out your luck in Rollerdrome. This mix of Rollderball and a murderous SSX Tricky in a dystopian future is a definite change to the usual easy going attitude of Roll7’s recent OlliOlli World.
