A rumor is swirling around that Nintendo is hard at work on a Zelda mobile game. According to several sites, the company is working with DeNA.
The rumor is a bit thin, however
The Wall Street Journal quotes “people familiar with the matter” regarding the new game, though no official statement has come from Nintendo.
In addition to the Zelda mobile news, the WSJ story includes a second rumor that an Animal Crossing is also getting the mobile treatment. Inside sources are reporting that it will be out in the second half of 2017. Zelda, if rumors are true, would come out after that.
That’s about all we know.
Nintendo has been increasing its presence in mobile gaming with titles including Super Mario Run and other well-known IPs.
A Zelda-themed mobile game would likely generate a huge income for Nintendo. As one of the debut games for the Switch, The Legend of Zelda has earned some of the highest review scores of the year. In fact, Metacritic has a critic score of 97/100 along with an 8.4 user score based on over 8000 reviews.

That’d be cool. Of course it’d probably be one of those “energy gated” mobile games.

I pray for just a port of LttP. I’d pay $20.
