Skunkape Games has announced that Telltale’s Sam & Max: Beyond Time and Space Remaster is headed out the gate on multiple systems beginning December 8, 2021. Players will be able to get hold of the game on PC/Windows, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch. The remastered version of the game will include five episodes of interconnected cases for players to solve including a showdown with Santa Clause, a Eurotrash vampire, and take part in a mad dash to subdue a volcano.
While Telltale has been closed since 2018, Skunkape Games is packed with former developers from the defunct studio. This updated version of the game features a number of big improvements including:
- 16:9 aspect ratio
- dynamic lighting
- improved lip-sync
- additional controls – point & click, mouse/keyboard, gamepad
- remastered audio and re-encoded from the source files
- tweaked character models
- new menus
- new opening sequences
- new acting and camera work
- a couple of new exterior locations have been added
- some new music
- one character recast (Bosco)
