It’s time to FullDive into the latest iteration of the Sword Art Online Universe. In a series of posts on Twitter, Aniplex USA announced the release dates for SAO Alternative: Gun Gale online and the hotly anticipated Persona 5 anime.
On April 7 fans of the two franchises will be able to catch both spin-offs animes on streaming sites, Crunchyroll and Hulu. The upcoming Persona 5 anime brings the hugely successful JRPG series to the small screen on the very same day it airs in Japan. It follows the adventures of Ren Amamiya, a transfer student, as he discovers his Persona, an alternative version of his true self.
SAO Alternative: Gun Gale Online does not follows the previous SAO games or any of the previous games. Instead, it adapts Keiichi Sigsawa’s light novel. It features a brand new cast of characters and revolves around Llenn, a newcomer to the virtual world of Gun Gale Online as she discovers her very own online persona.
