Prepare to take control of a city spanning Articfically Intelligence set somewhere in an unknown future. Painted neon and full of interesting tales to explore, the upcoming Neuronet: Mendax Proxy demo is set to arrive as part of Steam’s Next fest event, between 1 October until 7 October. During this time indie developer, Dram Harvest’s upcoming tale will give players a chance to sample a branching narrative that will expose you to a city losing its humanity to technology and ultimately allow you to shape the future.
Inspired by games like Reigns, this near-future dystopia comes courtesy of the AI controller at the heart of Catena City. Plugging into this neuro net, players will take control of this entity, NruNet: Mendax Proxy demands quick decisions that will impact the lives of the citizens on these streets. From helping jolly Papa Ru to turn his food truck in downtown Shentilar into a successful business, to grander city-wide choices like aiding the politician Denton Talingrey, players will find themselves faced with moral dilemmas, where there are no right choices, just a city in need of direction, with you at the helm.
To give potential players a sample of what’s coming in the new demo, the programmers behind this algorithmic adventure have dropped a new trailer for our enjoyment. You can check it out above and decide if you want to guide Catena to success or ruin. With a fully voice-acted cast and an expansive narrative featuring over 5000 story events, NeuroNet: Mendax Proxy is already available to wishlist on Steam and Epic storefronts.
