Save A Garbage City in Flotsam

Flotsam - city floating on the sea

Stray Fawn Studio is about to launch some real rubbish with Flotsam v1.0

Garbage city sim Flotsam is finally approaching launch. Stray Fawn Studios, the team behind The Wandering Village, has announced that it will dump this indie adventure out of Early Access soon. Initially floated onto the Steam Store back in 2019, the floating city survival sim is a laid-back adventure that mixes a gorgeous aesthetic, collections, crafting, and management mechanics to build a brilliant wee escape.

This new adventure will make it to a full release during summer 224, pushing players out onto the deep blue sea. After the world floods, resources to build some sort of civilization are pretty limited. Thankfully, we’ve already dumped a bunch of material into the ocean. You’ll make use of those garbage islands to build a floating home. Keep a city of drifters alive by recycling rubbish into wonky workshops and desalinators, providing the population with fresh water and shelter. Craft pollution washers to clean food and prevent disease and keep everyone happy.

Alongside the basic resource management, you’ll face wavering nerves, ancient ruins, oceanic obstacles, and the odd seagull. Like Terra Nil, this laid-back brain teaser makes more than a few nods to the consequences of our real-life actions without being too heavy on the heart. With a feel-good post-apocalyptic take on a serious matter, Flotsam is a shanty town that you might want to visit later this year. Check out more about this upcoming adventure on the official Steam Store page now.
