Those of you with long memories might remember the 1994 SNES game Ninja Warriors by Taito. It was considered one of the best beat ’em ups of its time. If you’re keen for a walk down memory lane, we have great news: The Ninja Saviors – Return of the Warriors is a remastered reboot of the classic title. The game will make its debut for both Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 on October 15th.
Developers have promised all the things one would expect in a modern remaster including improved visuals and audio, new animations and more. The game does, however, retain the classic SNES look and feel.
During gameplay, players take the role of one of five android ninjas whose sole purpose is to take out Banglar and his henchmen. The side-scrolling battle takes place across eight challenging levels as “players brawl their way through waves of enemy hordes”. In addition, the new version includes two new characters as well as two-player co-op and an online ranking system.
The game is already up for preorder for $19.99 on both the PlayStation Store and the Nintendo eShop. A physical edition will be available on launch day for $29.99. It comes with a printed manual, stickers, and a poster.
