Ebb Software has started a KickStarter and sent out a new game play trailer for its “atmospheric horror” game called Scorn. After watching the game play video they sent out, it’s clear that it’s a disgustingly mushy world.
Scorn
When you view the video, the sounds of spewing liquids and wet footsteps in the game world will be the first thing you notice. Everything from footsteps to loading weapons to the font of blood coming from dying enemies is….wet.
You will play as a character that is literally “thrown into the world”. You are utterly alone and it will require exploration of the “unsettling environment” to gain skills and gear. In addition, you will have to unlock other locations, however, it is non-linear in design.
Other features of the game include:
- environment as a character
- no cut-scenes to take away from the story
- lots of enemies with their own personalities
- a “lived-in” world
- puzzles
Ebb Software is hoping to raise about $180k to complete the development of the game. It currently sits at about $28.5k with over a month to go in the campaign. If you want to invest, you can head to its KickStarter page.
Pardon me while I go wash my hands.
