Rare has announced that the second “season” for Sea of Thieves is ready to set sail on April 15, 2021. The company announced late last year that it was moving to a seasonal approach called the Plunder Pass that allows SoT players to engage with all of the game’s features in order to move through a specific number of ranks in order to unlock consumables and cosmetics. Now that Season 1 is nearly complete, devs sent out a brief trailer — and nothing else — to tease players about what is to come.
The trailer is short on details but there are a couple of things that can be ferreted out of it:
- some type of new fort is coming — all it takes is a peek at the scary red skull cloud to understand this is not going to be a fun place
- a skeleton skin and other cool cosmetics
- the ability to hide inside a barrel
Check out the trailer and then head to the Sea of Thieves official site to learn more.
