Guild War s2 developer Arenanet is setting the mood ahead of End of Dragons, with a celebratory remix of the next expansion’s soundtrack.
DJDurel, Danger, Rhiannon Roze, Makeup and Vanity Set, ETC!ETC! all dropped the needle yesterday with the release of a remix set that we were not expecting. Tlineup of musical names took to the recently release End of Dragons soundtrack and worked their magic to create a range of celebratory sounds ahead of End of Dragons. Before the latest MMO expansion from ArenaNet hits store shelves in days, Tyrians can head to the official Guild Wars 2 YouTube channel to hear some of the centrepieces of Cantha reworked: If you’re interested in giving them a try, the full release schedule is as follows:
- Friday, February 25: Makeup & Vanity Set Remix
- Saturday, February 26: Rhiannon Roze Remix
- Sunday, February 27: Danger Remix
- Monday, February 28: DJ Durel Remix
- Tuesday, March 1: ETC!ETC! Remix
This isn’t something that we’d normally expect. While we’re huge fans of building Dragons with sound, check out our interview with Maclaine Diemer, End of Dragons seems like a fresh take on the series in more ways than one.
“The End of Dragons score was an incredible labor of love from the entire team, featuring some incredible performances by a Western orchestra and traditional Korean Gugak instrumentalists,” said ArenaNet audio director Drew Cady. “To have this international roster of producers and DJs remix tracks from the expansion was a new opportunity and we love the creative styles they brought to the compositions.”
For those patiently waiting, Guild Wars 2: End of Dragons will take players back to Cantha to explore a vibrant new land full of unusual tech and unexpected challenges on February 28. You can check out more about the upcoming expansion over at the official Guild Wars 2 website, where pre-orders are still live.
