Browser based games are taking something of a step up with the launch of Shadow PC in Browser
The is gaming landscape of Newgrounds and flash-based shenanigans. Gaming in the Browser is taking a monumental leap forward with the launch of Shadow’s browser-based access. Gamers with a Shadow Cloud gaming PC can now access their high-end gaming rig from a web browser. Whether that’s the likes of Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or other compatible browsers there’s virtually nowhere you won’t be able to log in and tick off those check in quests from.
Shadow in a web browser has been on the horizon for some time, with the final launch having icked off just a couple of days ago. The news means that current Shadow Gaming subscribers can access the core features of their online gaming rig, step out into Liyue, or go deep into their latest Diablo Dungeon. It does come with some restrictions. While cramming a desktop connection into a browser means slightly increased latency, it also drops some features like HVEC support and full USB passthrough. You’ll still be able to plug in a controller, but I’m not expecting high end audio equipment or my YubiKey to keep working. Resolution in browser will still manage up to 1440p resolution and 60HZ, depending on your current subscription and other factors. Finally, owners will need to pick up one of the renewed subscription tiers. Legacy Shadow PC users might need to check out the current raft of options.
Once logged in, Shadow PC users get to leverage either of the two new tiers of cloud gaming and all the power that comes with it. The base tier provides an Intel XEON 3.5Ghz, a GTX 1080, 12GB RAM, and 512GB storage. The Power Upgrade add on enhances this and offers an AMD EPYC™ 7543P CPU with 4 cores and 8 threads, AMD EPYC™ 7543P CPU with 4 cores and 8 threads, 28 GB RAM, and 412GB Storage. To use Shadow PC in Browse and get logged into the local smart fridge, open the local web browser and head to pc.shadow.tech to connect now. Alternatively, head to the blog post to find out more.
