Check out the gameplay of Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn on Switch up above. And if you’re one of the many who bought Saber’s NBA Playgrounds and have yet to see the online play due to patching and system issues, the independent game publisher is making up the delay to you by offering Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn for free when it launches this fall.
What is Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn?
Basically a sequel no one asked for, but still a promising looking arcade fighter, Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn is the crowdfunded revival of one of gaming’s biggest licensing weirdoes. In short, it’s a game that shouldn’t be made, but by taking the original’s badness into its revival and owning up to it, somehow Mad Dog and Saber Interactive’s game looks legitimately fun.
Shaquille O’Neal, world-renown basketball star and inter-dimensional fight tourney champion, must save us all once again in the long-anticipated sequel to the fighting game Shaq Fu. In this modern-day take on the classic beat ‘em up, Shaquille O’Neal must master hundreds of martial arts moves and battle techniques, taking on thousands of enemies with dozens of cool melee weapons in his fight against the mysterious Black Star Ninja. Defeat bosses in dynamic arenas, master cool finishing moves and play with your buddies in Co-Op mode or against each other in Player vs Player combat.
