If you’re like me, you know your Lord of the Rings. You’re no Tolkien Scholar, but the books hold a seriously close piece of your heart. But even stalwart fans like me can let go and have fun with the IP if I know something is not canon. Enter Monolith’s Mordor series of videogames, and the upcoming Shadow of War. Also enter Shelob, who has gone from giant spider that almost kills Frodo to, sexy Spider Vixen Lady who has her hands in all things evil on Middle-earth.
Eff it, just roll with the changes. We all know these stories are for fun, not lore. It’s like really excellently designed fan fiction. And I am here for it. October 10th is a long way away, it suddenly feels.
