Shiness New Trailer gives an overview of the RPG

The JRPG inspired game is looking like a great adventure.

Shiness new trailer brings us a sweeping overview of the upcoming action RPG from Enigami and Focus Home Interactive.  The game has a classic JRPG vibe, with an art style that evokes the Dragon Quest (Warrior) series but puts its own spin on it for sure. Combat looks to be a sort of blend of Bandai’s Naruto series and traditional 3D fighting games. There also seems to be quite a big of story cut scenes and loads of different characters to level with and play as. In short, for an Indie RPG, it sure looks like its packing a AAA budget.

Today’s video invites you to the magic world of Shiness, supported by a strong artistic direction, enthralling environments and endearing characters. Explore the world, and use your characters’ special powers – Kayenne’s telekinesis, Poky’s electromagnetic fields manipulation, and more –to progress in your adventure and find precious parchments, which are key to devastating spells and powerful combat techniques.

Throughout your quest, take part in hyper-dynamic combat inspired by traditional fighting games, combining combos, special moves, magic, elemental affinities and devastating “finish moves”. As you complete quests and battles, you will gain experience and levels, develop your characters and recruit new playable companions on your team.

And if cinematic JRPG styled games are your thing, be sure to check out the recent Toukiden 2 news from last week, too.  It seems the genre is on a bit of a comeback lately, and not just from the usual suspects (Square Enix games). Loads of new RPGs are coming to consoles and PC, including Shiness, which is about to debut on PC, Xbox One, and PS4 later this year. No official date has yet been given though.

Stay tuned to for more information on Shiness as we hear it.
