Skater XL, the skateboarding sim that Alley-ooped onto PC, PS4 and Xbox One earlier this year is set to add a bunch of new community content to consoles.
After barrelling head first into the skateboarding world, fans of virtual half pipes will soon find a whole lot more to do when they hit the ramps later this year. Console owners of Skaterl Xl are set to get community created mods in a December update, later this year. Community mods already exist in SkaterXL thanks to the power of Skater XL and flexibility of the PC gaming platform but until now this type of cross platform modification was rather unusual. The addition of new community created skate parks means that players with console versions of Skater XL can enjoy the following new additions:
- Riverfern – Created by Taitjames from Sydney, Australia, this map features a mash-up of real life skate spots found in the land down under.
- Quebec Skate Plaza – Created by AlexLaskka from Quebec City, Canada, this map is a highly accurate replica of the well known skate park found in the great white north.
- Applewood Park – Created by ROARTEX89 from Kent, England, this map caters to all skating styles with huge stair sets, its own skatepark, hubba ledges, techy manual pads and more.
Alongside the extra maps, any of you urban acrobats will also notice a bunch of new gear that should be dropping into the game, given time.
Skater XL is an urban skate sim where players get to create, combine, and style tricks with unparalleled board control. Featuring a range of locations from the Californian coast to bespoke skate parks, as well a ton of fan content, Skate Xl is certainly worth a look fancy yourself something of a virtual Tony Hawks.
