Skirmish, the matchmaking app with an appropriately punchy name, just got a new CEO in an effort to claw its way up the corporate stack.

While it might still be early days for the team at behind this new matchmaking app, but the small team of enthusiastic esports specialist has appointed Luke Grob, the former HelloFresh founding member and VP of Operations & Product as the new Chief Executive Officer of Skirmish. Designed to help with the overall experience of remote competitive play, Skirmish launched with the idea of distinguishing itself from competitors by making online sports play easy. By signing up, and installing the Skirmish app players are able to pick matches, wager ranking points, and get fully automated results from their matches. By removing the need for external verification, screenshots, and just good old trust Skirmish is an interesting concept.

While this might seem like an odd fusion of flavors, the addition of Grob to this small gaming startup seems like it might end up paying off in the end. While plenty of big players are pouring in a ton of cash into high profile esports teams and the latest social platform, Skirmish is busy building a platform that could be a disruptor. Grob’s background in this space with HelloFresh UK and REEF Technology among others could pay dividends.

What Is Skirmish?

If all this means nothing to you then don’t worry. For gamers, it means it might be the time to consider taking a look at this new app before the leaderboard gets congested. Skirmish is an automated matchmaking app that allows players to pick their matches and engage with gaming communities in online tournaments in a fully automated fashion. Players can pick a match or enter an engagement via the app, blow away the opposition and wait for the synchronized desktop app to simply report the results. The fully integrated action only allows Skirmish to talk to PUBG and Fortnite for now, but that should expand with this push towards the top of the rankings.
