Slay The Spire, the deceptively decent deck builder is getting ready to conquer another console. Days after a PlayStation 4 release, Humble and Mega Crit games have revealed Slay the Spire is coming to the Nintendo Switch.
Due for release on 6 June, this 2D adventure initially blasted onto PC at the end of January 2019. It seemed to almost slip by unnoticed but eventually racked up a sizeable stack of sales and overwhelmingly positive reviews. Slay the Spire is a roguelike deck builder, that takes single-player dungeon crawling up into a new level. Players start this adventure with a preset character and a limited number of options. Players must make their way up each level of a changing spire, battling through a number of encounters and a final boss battle.
Easy Access
Combat in Slay the Spire is designed to be easily accessible. The turn-based system dishes out a hand of cards each turn and a mana style energy system allows players to utilize these powers. With a number of different options potentially available to draw and a variety of unknowns on each level of each level, Slay the Spire is a game that has an absolute plethora of potential options to play through. You can get a glimpse of this gameplay in the Switch release trailer below.
This isn’t the only deck builder that is about to see time o the switch. Steamworld Quest is also on route to the mobile platform. It seems that the Nintendo Switch continues to be a great place for gamers and indie developers alike.
