Smite 2, the newest incarnation of the iconic MOBA, just got two new gods for players to test out.
After opening up 24/7 alpha testing for the latest MOBA from this long running brawler, Hi-Rez and Titan Forge Games have added two new characters to the in-game roster. Nu Wa and Amaterasu Join the current gods in Smite 2’s latest round of testing. Already available and featuring familiar faces, these two fan favorites leap over from the first Smite and provide plenty of new ways to play.
Nu Wa is the Chinese goddess of order and creation known. She is known for creating humanity and repairing the pillars of Heaven. In the latest Smite, she focuses on crowd control and area damage. Her ultimate ability strikes all enemies on the map with a powerful celestial beam.
Amaterasu is based on the Shinto sun goddess. Considered the ruler of the heavens and one of the most important deities in Japanese mythology, her abilities revolve around auras that enhance her team’s power and movement speed. This is cleverly coupled with sword attacks that deal impressive damage when called upon.
These two joined the action during the latest update, which also bundles in a few other extras. The latest changes add Ranked Features including the Role Preference System and Ranked Leaderboards, a new tutorial to help players jump into Arena Mode, and Co-op Mode improvements. If you feel like it’s worth taking a shot at conquering the heavens, then the SMITE 2 Founder’s Series open qualifications that started on September 14. The final event with a $300k Prize Pool will take place in HyperX Arena Las Vegas on January 17-19, 2025. Players can learn more about the Founder’s Series on the official website.
Smite 2 is bringing a brand-new version of an iconic MOBA name to Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox and Epic Games Store. Rebuilding it from the ground up, this title is forging a future for the gods and while the new iteration of these deities is not without its detractors, it’s looking pretty impressive.
