There are a few things about getting older that just suck. Commuting, balancing your taxes, and seeing your friends all disperse make it almost impossible to make every social commitment that you used to. However, Friday night poker might just be making a comeback, with the release of Social Club VR and a brand new trailer.
Available right now on Steam and Oculus Home, Social Club VR brings big money casino games out of Vegas and streams them right into your eye holes. Designed by virtual reality developer Perilous Orbit, Social Club VR is compatible with HTC Vive, Windows Mixed Reality, and Oculus Rift VR set. It provides a brand new way to play classic games including Blackjack, Texas Hold ‘em, and Roulette in an intimate environment that lets you freely explore the VR environment you are in.
If you and your old poker party aren’t able to fill the same physical environment then Social Club VR doesn’t just cater for solo play. Online Multiplayer and non-VR modes allow you to squeeze in some last-minute poker with your friends across the world. Poker, of course, is not the only game you can lose your favorite shirt in either. Can Crushing even makes a slightly left-field return for the moments you just can’t count any more cards.
This isn’t looking like just any other poker game, and while I’m not one for donning my glad rags and heading out to risk my precious winnings, I might happily load up a personalized youtube playlist, kick back, and prepare to count my winnings in an online experience.
