Soda Crisis Review

Soda Crisis is not only an insanely addictive platform game but also a game with outstanding visuals that will not leave you indifferent. The game is developed by Team Soda. The game has excellent ratings on Steam and still receives updates and additions.

In Soda Crisis, you play as a mysterious character equipped with advanced high-tech gadgets and furious combat skills. Use all the adaptations and skills of your hero, become stronger and get rid of all the enemies on your way. Soda Crisis was built around fast-paced gameplay, enjoyable combat, and keeping the player on their toes.

I used to play a lot of platform shooters in my time. One thing I remember about every platform game I’ve played is that I was terrible at them, but I had fun. At many points in this game, I found myself unable to make jumps that I should have done easily, or could not understand the simplest platform puzzles. Taking damage from shots that I had to anticipate and easily jump over or dodge, I quickly realized that maybe this genre is not for me, or something is wrong with the game … But still, most likely it’s me.

But it wasn’t just my fault. Soda Crisis is an exceptionally beautiful game that I had more fun watching than playing. I was often distracted not only by beautiful backgrounds but also by the interesting design of the enemies and the rather bright effects coming from their guns. At times I was like a deer in the headlights, realizing too late that “oh, this beauty that I love to look at is trying to kill me”

Art style

Soda Crisis 2

The art style in Soda Crisis is definitely what the game needs. At the moment, it seems like a deadly sin to release a platform game without a unique, interesting, and beautiful art style. Soda Crisis definitely doesn’t disappoint in this regard. The visuals are absolutely stunning, with a cool, soft, future-proof minimalist style that reminds me of a refined version of Overwatch’s visual style. Soda Crisis definitely has its own twist and is very unique in its presentation.

Soda Crisis 3

I can’t give enough praise for the visuals in this game, especially when it comes to backgrounds and the effects of things like rockets and bullets flying straight at my face, but I don’t want to give the impression that good looks are everything. A video game needs to have fun gameplay, otherwise, it’s just a visual novel, and Soda Crisis is definitely fun.

Soda Crisis is moving fast, and I mean fast. There were many times when I could not understand that a new enemy had appeared, not to mention that I was taking damage. This does not mean that the game is too difficult, just that it is not predictable. Fans of the side-scrolling genre will likely find the pace of this game refreshingly challenging, but not overwhelming.

Soda Crisis 4

The game does a great job of making you feel like an unstoppable killing machine. Hordes of enemies, while challenging if you let your guard down, are easily taken down by the player’s arsenal of weapons and upgrades.

The upgrades, by the way, are numerous and effective, allowing you to customize your character to best suit your playstyle, making the game even more fun.

The game’s movement systems allow you to outwit and outmaneuver overwhelming hordes of enemies. Soda Crisis gives you a variety of tools to overcome difficulties, from wall jumps, grapples, dodges and more.

However, the story is far from the center of the game, and its strong gameplay and vibrant visual design more than make up for it. The powerful electronic soundtrack is also to be commended because each song perfectly matches the player’s energy at any given moment. There are also plenty of mini-games to shake things up after playing, such as a speedrun mode and plenty of collectible game cartridges to play on the home base arcade machine. Combining hellish gunplay with the action-packed platforming of games like Ori and the Will of the Wisps, Soda Crisis stands out as a phenomenal side-scrolling action-adventure game.
