Developer Lavapotion is back with more information about Songs of Conquest’s upcoming faction, the Vanir. Vanir are the human raiders and traders of the Bleak East, descended from Indebted Baryans and Arleon peasants who fled the oppressive rule of barons. Meanwhile, Vildra are the dark folk-lore creatures. They are sometimes cruel, sometimes wicked, and every one of them in their own way magical.
In the latest devlog, the team invites you to witness the fearsome but powerful transformation that the Vanir go through to become Vildra.
- The Swine, a standard armored hog, turns into the Serimnaan, an eternal beast inspired by Särimner, the mythical pig that is reborn again after each slaughter;
- The Bacahorse, an eerie creature inspired by the legends of a mare that lures children to a watery grave, brings a haunting presence to the battlefield. Its upgraded form is Hunger, which receives a new kind of ability: an AoE attack that siphons life from its enemies and heals it in the process.
- The leaders of Vanir society are known as Chieftains. Infused with Vildra magic, these warriors turn into behemoths that can stand up to the most dangerous of enemies: Jormr.
- Lykt and their upgraded form, the Lyktvaan are these eerie, lantern-carrying creatures are as mysterious as they are menacing.
