SEGA has announced that Sonic Prime, a new animated series based on Sonic the Hedgehog, will make its debut on Netflix on December 15th. The series is co-produced with WildBrain and will offer viewers 24 episodes perfect for kids, families, and long-time fans. Viewers will be treated to the “Blue Blur” as he travels through a strange new multiverse packed with high-octane adventure.
Accompanying the news of Sonic Prime, SEGA also announced that Sonic Frontiers has sold over 2.5 million copies. Players were able to start on the Blue Blur’s open world action-adventure game last November 8th.
In Sonic Frontiers, Sonic, Tails, and Amy set off on a new adventure in a mysterious new land. They are searching for the missing Chaos Emeralds. Players will battle hordes of powerful enemies as they explore a breathtaking world of action, adventure, and mystery. Sonic fans can accelerate to new heights and experience the thrill of high-velocity, open-zone platforming freedom. They race across the Starfall Islands with no predetermined path. Within the open-zone landscape, players can complete side quests, solve puzzles, scale enormous structures, go fishing, and test their 3D platforming skills in Cyber Space.
Players will also have an opportunity to check out three free DLC. These will each bring the community new elements, playable characters, game modes, and costumes. The first DLC is slated to come out on December 21st and will surely put players in a holiday mood. Called Sonic’s Holiday Cheer Costume, the DLC will allow players to deck out the big guy in all his wintry finery.
The game is now available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
