Sonic Strats Episode 2 Is Everything You Need To Know For Sonic Origins

Sonic Origins is out tomorrow and Sega has released one last update covering everything you need to know in Speed Strats – Episode 2.

Sega just dropped an overview of everything that you’ll need to know ahead of Sonic Origins tomorrow. The second in the aptly named Speed Strats series is now available for you to view. Whether you watch it on the go or slow down to sit back and absorb every detail, there should be something here that will help you get ahead when we all return to Green Hill Zone. The new episode in this series of online videos does give us a brief overview of why Sonic is in this verdant location, but mostly you’ll be able to cove the important play tips for this title.

After chasing Dr. Eggman to South Island to stop him from grabbing the Chaos Crystals, you’ll need to keep an eye on some of the following in game items:

  • Rings – In-game players will come across rings (not to be confused with coins). If Sonic is holding at least one ring, players can take a hit from enemies or other dangerous obstacles. Once hit, rings will spill out and players will have the ability to retrieve them.
  • Lamppost – Lampposts save players’ progression, so be sure to spin them when spotted in-game.
  • Monitors – In-game, break monitors to gain rings, lives, and a powerful shield that will protect Sonic from one hit.
  • Insta-Death – Even if players have rings or a shield, being crushed will result in an instadeath so be careful to always watch your step.

This isn’t all you’ll learn about either. Players picking up Sonic Origins will be able to experience some brand new features, dashing through this adventure as both Knuckles and Tails. Players choosing Tails, Sonic’s plucky sidekick, will be able to change the way they play by flying across the screen, while Knuckles can climb walls and glide through the surroundings. Following on from Sonic Mania, players will also be able to use the Drop Dash ability and dabble in both Classic Mode
And Anniversary modes.

The episode also goes over a rather familiar rotating maze that will unlock when you gab enough rings, but we’re not going to spoil everything for you. You’ll need to watch Sonic Origins: Speed Strats – Episode 2 to get the full briefing.

Once fully prepared, you can grab this new twist on the Sonic legacy across PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, the Nintendo Switch™ family of systems, and PC on 23 July 2022. Find ut more about this new take on the Sonic series on the official website.
