Square Enix has announced the release date for Star Ocean: First Departure R, the 2007 remake of the original game. PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch players can look for it just in time for the holidays this year when it hits virtual store shelves on December 5th. The game is a bargain too coming in at $21.
The rebooted game will come with several cool features.
- The original Japanese and English voice-overs will be available or players can choose a new version. The updated voice cast includes members from the Super Famicom version that was previously only released in Japan.
- Players can also choose between the original character art or newly created artwork by Katsumi Enami.
- Players will also be able to speed up gameplay to move through the world more quickly.
- Lastly, game balance has been tweaked to provide more challenge to players.
