Star Wars Republic Commando Is Deploying On Switch and PS4

Remember when we said Star Wars Republic Commando was coming back, well get ready cadet because it’s officially arriving on 6 April 2021.

Back last month we spotted hints that last gen classic Star Wars Republic Commando might be making something of a return. Now, Aspyr has confirmed that the tactical shooter is set to hit PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch consoles on 6 April. Blasting its way onto these two just about current gen consoles, the title will return to these two systems for a reasonable $14.99.

Having originally launched back in 2005, the first person tactical shooter takes place during the legendary Clone Wars. While you might not be waving a purple light saber and cutting down Sith, you will be tasked with leading a team of elite clone troops as they take on enemies of the republic. Don’t get confused, this isn’t the Battlefront series of Star Wars shooters. Instead, Republic Commando allows gamer to take the lead and coordinate their squad to take down enemy encounters using a range of options on hand. As you take Boss, Fixer, Scorch, and Sev, better known as Delta Squad, on missions there are plenty of iconic problems to overcome and the odd tip of the hat to the wider Star Wars universe.

“Since its original launch in 2005, Republic Commando continues to be a fan-favorite Star Wars game. We’re honored to be able work with Lucasfilm Games to bring back this beloved moment in franchise history.” said Ted Staloch, Aspyr Co-founder.

Pre orders are already ongoing over on the Nintendo Switch Store page, although anybody with a PC can already grab a copy of this over on Steam. For something of a mission briefing, you can head up and watch the new trailer for the title now.
