Patch 1.18 Makes Starcraft And Brood Wars Available For Free
Back in 1998, StarCraft became a new word in RTS genre. November of the same year marked the release of Brood Wars, an update that added more units as well as continued the story of the original. The protoss, the Zerg and the Terran clashed in epic battles.
The title has become a cornerstone of Blizzard’s e-sports gameplay with tournaments held world-wide and broadcast to viewers via livestreaming.
Fast forward to current times, with the last expansion of the game’s sequel, Legacy of the Void, Blizzard seems to put its eyes back on their classic games.
On March 25th during event in Korea the company announced a Remastered version of the original game. It will hit the market later in Summer. The Remastered version will be a part of the Blizzard app.
