Starcraft Remastered Announced for Summer 2017

Starcraft Remastered is a thing fulfilling many players’ dreams. Blizzard’s Mike Morhaime made the announcement during the “I <3 Starcraft” event in South Korea with the big news. Starcraft as well as Brood War will be part of the new edition set for release in summer 2017.

Starcraft Remastered brings big support

The remastered version brings a lot to the table including being part of the Blizzard app.

Check out this list of features:

  • improved audio
  • 4k support
  • matchmaking improvements through the Blizzard app
  • zoom in / out of field of battle
  • fresh “narrative interludes”

First, for those who already own the original games, a new patch will be released later this week. The patch addresses a number of technical issues to bring it up to par with today’s PCs in order to make the updated versions compatible with the remastered ones too. Lastly, no price point has been set though, hopefully, it will be revealed soon.

We’ll keep you posted as the story develops. In the meantime, enjoy the video!

  1. This really excites me and gives me hope that D2 HD is in the works or a strong possibility if this goes over well. I’m almost certain they’d sell another million+ copies of a remastered D2.
