For those who have been eagerly awaiting the official release date for Galactic Civilizations IV, the wait is almost over. Stardock has announced that GCIV will be leaving its beta phase of development and entering into full release on April 26, 2022. To celebrate the huge news, the team released a brand new trailer to showcase some of the game’s most engaging features.
According to developers, the game continues the long tradition of the series by utilizing space 4X strategy sandbox elements and building on the best of the past, and expanding gameplay opportunities with all-new features. This includes multi-sector maps, civilization customization, internal factions, a unique mission/quest system, and more.
“Galactic Civilizations IV is the result of years of thinking about the exciting innovations that have been occurring in strategy games,” said Brad Wardell, Stardock CEO. “We want to give players the ultimate turn-based strategy experience, and we’ve accomplished this by adding in tons of new features that add to the depth and scope of the game while incorporating feedback over several alpha and beta testing phases.”
