Story of Seasons, the long-running slice of life formula that started ut life as Harvest Moon, is about to turn 25 this month with a new move for Mineral Town.

Story of Seasons, otherwise known as Harvest Moon in the west and Bokujou Monogatari in Japan, is set to turn 25 years old this month, While that still pales in comparison to my elderly adventures, it is something of an achievement for a video game. As part of this month’s anniversary, Marvelous Europe has unveiled that PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of STORY OF SEASONS: Friends of Mineral Town will launch physically and digitally on the 15th October 2021 within Europe and Australia, following on from a Nintendo Switch debut in July 2020.

While console owners might have an opportunity to visit Mineral Town and experience all the cute day to day activities of this adorable town, PC players will also get a treat around this big milestone. STORY OF SEASONS: Pioneers of Olive Town is due to arrive on PC on 15 September and marks only the second time that Story of Seasons has dropped a new entry onto PC rather than simply porting an age-old classic.

Both Friends of Mineral Town and Pioneers of Olive Town take the well-honed escape to the country idea that harvest Moon began so well and refines it into a modern take on a much-loved classic. Players picking up either of these experiences in the country will get to rebuild an old farmyard, grow crops, raise livestock, and take part in activities. Maybe even romance some of the townsfolk at a local carnival. If you need an escape then this progenitor of the genre still holds plenty of sways when we’re making holiday plans.
