Mythwrecked: Ambrosia Island will whisk you away to tropical adventure across PC, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox on 5th December 2024
Forget the festive frolics and feel the sand beneath your feet this winter when the godly adventure Mythwrecked: Ambrosia Island comes to PC and console. Whitehorn Games and Polygon Treehouse announced the news last night, and players looking to take a break from the end of year temperatures can soon build unexpected friendships with powerful Greek gods.
This upcoming friendship-building escape to the sun was first announced in summer 2023, and players who end up washed ashore will meet a backpacker, Alex. This eager explorer might be stranded on the mysterious shores of Ambrosia Islan, but she’s not alone. The island is populated by the gods of Greek myth and legend, but something is not quite right. These deities and legends are not able to remember who they are. It’s up to Alex to uncover the cause of this amnesia and return the memories of the gods. That task will be easier if you choose to befriend the locals. The closer you get to each iconic figure, the more they will help out with their powers. Solve a mystery. Save the gods. Seems easy enough!
Mythwrecked: Ambrosia Island is an admittedly gorgeous looking narrative adventure. It melds together a unique aesthetic with a non-linear, emotional story about the importance of friendship, family, and community, all while trying to make the story as accessible as possible. You can find out more about the accessibility features here, and take a look at the stylish take on Zeus and Hera over on the official website or check out the Steam demo for a short break right now.
