Super Bomberman R lights the fuse on event battles as the very first of these challenges kicks off today.
Bomberman might be a classic game but there’s no denying it’s managed to move with the times, and the multiplayer Super Bomberman R Online is the best example. To keep this explosive title fresh, Konami is kicking off the very first Event Battles in this version of Bomberman. Event battles are more fluid than traditional Bomberman fans might have experience and take place during normal Quick Matches. Players will still face a standard ruleset but the maps will rotate most days to keep things from getting stale. Event battles will also feature different player limits, with either four Bombers at a time or eight for even more carnage.

The Event battles aren’t the only new addition to Super Bomberman R Online. A new bomber has arrived in the franchise, called Shiori Fujisaki. One of the most popular characters in the Tokimeki Memorial series, Shiori Fujisaki is cute, intelligent, and good at sports. In Super Bomberman R Online, Shiori will be a ‘Unique Type’ Bomber with the ability ‘Tokimeki Field’ which will allow her to freeze all nearby characters for a short time. Shiori Fujisaki Bomber is available at 300 Bomber Coins in the in-game store.
Originally launched on Stadia, Super Bomberman R Online is a massive Bombeman spin-off.
