Netflix just dropped something of interest to fans of a certain iconic blue speedster, with a teaser for Sonic Prime.
Set to land on Netflix globally in some time this year, Sonic Prime might be some time away but fans of the eponymous hedgehog just got a first look at this upcoming series in a short but sweet 13 second snippet, Netflix teased the latest look for this iconic video game character, as well as introducing the voice of Sega’s champion.

Available to view over on social media, and barely giving us any time to blink, the new clip gives us a look at a somewhat traditional Sonic look. Sporting a definite lack of human facial features and a whirling red blur below, fans can watch this Sonic stream into view, picking up rings along the way, and finally mouth off before darting away. The first few lines of dialogue might suggest a spikey personality and looks liekly to be Devin Mack. The actor is part of the already confirmed cast that includes MLP alumni Ashleigh Ball, as well as Shannon Chan-Kent, Brian Drummond, and more.
Unfortunately, after running off, there’s not a lot more to see in this trailer, yet it’s incredibly affirming to see. We’re only a glimpse of what appears to be Green Hill Zone, a quick snapshot of the new Sonic, and a few voice lines in, and already we’re feeling better than we did before the first Sonic movie made a splash at the box office. Sonic Prime is just one of many new Sonic projects on the go and will premiere as a 24-episode 3D animated adventure on Netflix later this year.
