Assemble Entertainment just gave us all a closer look at upcoming sci-fi adventure XEL.
Coming to Nintendo Switch and PC, XEL is a gorgeous looking new sci-fi experience that looks set to land during summer 2022. The team behind this mystical new world has released a gallery of new screenshots for us to take shifty at. The stack of in game shots gives us an indication of the overall tone of this tale, moving through verdant overworlds, desert land, and industrial platforms to reach a conclusion. There are nods to the upcoming gameplay, where players will need to utilize gadgets to get across the overworld and even a look at some of the locals.

This isn’t the only glimpse of XEL we’ve had lately. An accompanying trailer dropped recently too, giving us an introduction to this otherworldly land. Here, players picking up XEL will need to guide an amnesiac hero Reid, as they journey through treacherous dungeons, solve time warping puzzles, and use the tools at their disposal to fix what seems broken. Along the way, a mystery will unravel and Reid might regain those memories.
Developed by Tiny Roar, this is something of a leap forward from Talking Tom Cake Jump and seems to take inspiration from classics like Zelda and visual cues from HoB. With plenty of vibrant visuals, an exquisite sounding backdrop, and an adorable set of characters we’re ready for this quest. If you want to find out more, check out the official Steam Store or GoG page before it arrives on PC and Nintendo Switch. This summer. Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PlayStation platforms will get it later in the year.
