Celebrate Hobbit Day with a preview of Tales of the Shire on 22 September.

Weta Workshop and Private Division invite players to grab a second breakfast and cozy up for a look ahead at one of the most unexpected adventures since Sauron’s return. The upcoming and utterly adorable Tales of the Shire will arrive on screens as part of a preview in jsut under two weeks. Landing on 22 September, Hobbit Day for all you Middle Earth enthusiasts, the upcoming preview will give us all a look at the upcoming title, activities, and more.

Fishing, foraging, decorating, trading, and cooking are all expected to appear on screen. While some of these activities might be more important to a little person than others, the showcase is more than a feast for the eyes. The developers are due to delve into the process of attentive stewardship for crafting, and the overall approach to making a life sim that stays true to the overall lore of a much loved franchise.

Spinning off in an unexpected direction from the iconic Lord of the Rings books, movies, and video games, Tales of the Shire is a more sedate experience than Shadow of War. Taking the role of a Hobbit, you’ll be expected to grow potatoes, build a home, and get to know the locals in a town that seems a world away from the Ring of Power. This Hobbit Day showcase goes live across Twitch, YouTube, X/Twitter, and TikTok on 2nd September at 6:30 PM BST / 1.30 PM ET. Following the stream there will also be a Q&A panel, but you can find out more right away on the official website.
