Earlier this week, fans of EA’s Tetris and Tetris Blitz on mobile devices were dismayed to hear that the games conglomerate was “retiring” both titles from the App Store and Google Play starting April 21st. In addition, all in-game purchases were disabled until the time the games disappeared forever.
The games will still be available until April 21, 2020, and you can use all your in-game items until then. All purchases have been disabled in the game and the store will no longer be available starting today.

All is not lost, however, as N3TWORK and The Tetris Company have announced a multi-year partnership to continue the development of the classic title. This version of the classic experience is now free to download and play from both Google Play and the App Store. This is the first time this version of the game has been available outside New Zealand and China. According to press information, players will find traditional solo gameplay with “fresh experiences coming soon”. The current version includes intuitive swipe controls and online/offline play. In time, online high score tables will be added.
