The HTC Vive Pro 2 Kit, the newest high-end VR offering from manufacturer HTC is now on sale.
After letting the HTC Vive Pro 2 loose on the market back in June 2021, the VR hardware teams at HTC have opened pre-orders and sales for the full Vive Pro 2 Kit. While the HTC Vive Pro 2 is already on sale, the new Pro 2 Kit offers up all the obvious pieces to jump straight into one of VR’s top tiers. The new HTC Vive Pro 2 Kit doesn’t just offer up the eponymous headset but also includes 2x Base Stations and 2x VIVE controllers, allowing consumers and professionals to jump right into the HTC ecosystem.
While the Vive Pro 2 is marketed as a professionals device current sales of the headset alone have it hitting the market at considerably less than the Focus 3 business edition and closer to an enthusiast price point of £719 or local equivalent. Anybody in the US eager to pre-order this new bundle will be able to do so now via the HTC website. Europe and beyond will, however, have to wait for this kit a little longer. While you can still grab the headset, anybody looking to pre-order the newly announced HTC Vive Pro 2 kit will need to hang tight until 23 September.
Sitting between the modular Cosmos series and business products, the included pro tier headset crams in a whopping 5K resolution display delivering 2.5K to each eye, coupled with an amazing 120Hz refresh rate as well as a fast-switching panel with real RGB sub-pixels, for crystal clear and super smooth animations. The field of view reaches as far as 120 degrees all backed by the VIVE Pro 2’s bespoke dual stacked-lens design.
While other competitor devices might seem less expensive, with hardware you’ll inevitably get what you pay for, one way or another, and recent moves to add apps to the competing Oculus ecosystem haven’t gone done well with some sections of the community. If you’re looking for a fully finessed VR experience then US pre-orders are open now and the HTC Vive Pro 2 kit opens orders on 23 September, coming in at $1399 and £1299 respectively. Head over to the HTC Vive website to find out more.
