Starward Industries, a Polish studio brimming with top tier gaming experience, has just unveiled its vision of the future and given is a glimpse of their new title, Invincible.
Set in a retro sci-fi universe, Invincible is born out of a shared vision to bring the work of Science Fiction writer Stanisław Lem to life. Starward fancied Lem’s 99th birthday to give us all a glimpse of the title that they’ve been working on since 2018. Taking gamers on a journey of unnerving discovery, Invincible reminds us that while we might want to boldly go, there are places that might not be worth the effort. With some areas of this universe off-limits to human habitation, Invincible will plunge players onto a distant planet Regis III. As you embark on a mysterious mission to find the missing crew of your spaceship, survival is a matter of your correct choices, taken whilst uncovering the secrets of the planet, bigger than anyone thought.
“The Invincible, which has been secretly in the making for some time, combines a fascinating setting, iconic story and established non-linear gameplay to deliver a truly unforgettable experience,” says Starward Industries CEO, Marek Markuszewski. “The studio believes in the power of interactive storytelling, and wants to engage gamers of all skill levels in crafting their own paths in the peculiar world of a distant, malevolent planet.”
This cyberpunk style future attempts to channel the same sort of influences that steered the likes of video gaming legend Hideo Kojima. It looks set to land on PC and next-gen consoles in 2021. Further announcements will be made in the coming months.
