The KFConsole is the Real Deal

KFConsole

Sure, we’ve all heard the rumors about the KFConsole that originally began in June of this year. We chortled a bit to ourselves, didn’t we?

“Those guys. They’re such a hoot!” we’ve smugly thought before summarily dismissing the idea of a gaming console made by a fast-food legend.

The future of gaming is here.

But proving that 2020 really is the year of the bizarre, we are chagrined to find out that KFC really is making a gaming console and that, yes indeed, it really does have a warming drawer for all the tasty chicken a gamer could possibly need. Oh, and the fast-food giant also revealed that the console runs games “at top-level specs”.

PR & Social Media Lead at KFC UK and Ireland Mark Cheevers wrote, “Moving forward from our initial teaser campaign earlier this year, we’re so pleased to finally give the fans exactly what they wanted; making the KFConsole a reality. We all know the console war is vicious, but we’re very confident in the KFConsole as our flagship entry.”

Here are a few facts:

  • The console has been developed in partnership with Cooler Master.
  • The cooling system extracts heat from the outside of the chicken chamber so the chicken stays hot inside the drawer. According to specs, this technology will keep the console hardware from heating up.
  • It features true 4K and runs games at 120 FPS.

Stephen James, Global PR and Influencer Manager at Cooler Master said, “When we were approached by KFC Gaming to make the KFConsole, we jumped at the chance to get involved and enter the console war. The KFConsole has been custom built with the gamer at the front of mind. The last thing we want is anyone to go hungry while playing!”

How well it will sell remains to be seen but either way, the KFConsole has our attention. Keep eyes peeled on the KFC Twitter as more details are released over the coming months.
