The Most Exciting Games Coming in 2022

Exciting Games Coming in 2022

After a year of disappointments with several big franchises missing the mark, such as Battlefield 2042, new games came out to massive success like Elden Ring, which was praised by journalists and players alike.

However, this isn’t the only game you should wait for this year, and whether you’re on PC or consoles, there are plenty of exciting games scheduled for 2022. If you enjoy these video games, you may also enjoy some exclusive live casino games.

The Top Six Upcoming Games of 2022

1.   Mario Strikers: Battle League (Switch)

A new Mario game is always an event, but this one is special because the last time Nintendo-heads had a soccer game was in 2007 with the port of 2005’s Super Mario Strikers to the Wii, simply called Mario Strikers Charged. Even though the game is still being played, a sequel was long overdue. This new addition to the series comes with updated graphics, a new online multiplayer mode, gear to boost your player’s stats, and a new game mechanic called Hyper Strikes. It revamps the Ultimate Smashes from Super Smash Bros., and you need to grab an orb that randomly appears on the field to activate it with a timing mini-game.

Mario Strikers: Battle League is scheduled to come out on Nintendo Switch exclusively on June 10th, 2022.

2.   Starfield (Xbox, PC)

At the moment, we know very little about Starfield. However, the trailers revealed what promises to be an exciting Action RPG in a space opera setting. Developed by Bethesda, the studio behind popular franchises such as The Elder Scrolls or the Fallout games, we can expect an immersive adventure borrowing elements from the two aforementioned game series. However, the setting opens the realm of possibilities, and although it’s only speculation at the moment, navigating in space, crafting objects, and repairing our ships will likely be included in a vast open world. We expect it’ll come with many quests and NPCs to interact with, along with a skill tree similar to all Bethesda’s RPGs. So far, this is what we expect and nothing less.

Starfield is scheduled to come out on PC, Xbox Series X, and Series S on November 11th, 2022.

3.   Stray (PlayStation, PC)

Stray is developed by BlueTwelve Studios and offers you to explore an unwelcoming city as a stray cat looking for its family. In this Sony-exclusive title mixing platform and puzzle-solving, the cat must use its feline instincts to overcome the dangers of a cyberpunk-style city. Along the way, this cat will encounter a drone allowing it to interact with the world and engage with the strange inhabitants of this place. This game promises a journey through a graphically pleasing environment and deep lore to uncover.

Stray is scheduled to come out on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC in 2022.

Gotham Knights Spread Their Wings in October

4.   Gotham Knights (Playstation, Xbox, Pc)

WB Montréal developed the underrated Batman: Arkham Origins and worked on the Mortal Kombat Franchise alongside Netherrealm Studios. This time they offer you to come back to the dirty streets of Gotham City, where crime is at an all-time high after Batman retired in Batman: Arkham Knight (The last Rocksteady-developed game). You can play as Robin, Red Hood, Nightwing or Batgirl, all sidekicks to the Dark Knight as Gotham is once again riddled with crime. Each character has unique abilities and plays differently, with Batgirl having to rely on stealth or Red Hood going in guns blazing, for instance. It’s an open world similar to the Arkham series, where you can roam freely, jumping between roofs, gliding, or driving a vehicle through the busy streets to face off against the franchise’s most infamous villains like Mr. Freeze.

Gotham Knights is scheduled to come out on Playstation 4, Playstation 5, Xbox One, Series X, Series S, and Pc on October 25th, 2022.

5.   Evil Dead: The Game (PlayStation, Xbox, PC)

Are you ready to slay some Deadites with your chainsaw arm and your boomstick? Evil Dead is a franchise that has impacted cinema with its charismatic protagonist, Ash Williams, brilliantly played by Bruce Campbell, for over 40 years now. However, it never managed to transpose itself to video games despite having all the ingredients for an exciting title. Saber Interactive has revealed several trailers for this new cooperative multiplayer game following the success of titles based on 80’s franchises like Friday the 13th or Predator. It promises an action-packed adventure with all the gore and cheesy one-liners fans of the films and TV shows adore.

Evil Dead: The Game is scheduled to come out on Playstation 5, Playstation 4, Xbox One, Series X and Series S, PC, and Switch on May 13th, 2022.

6.   God of War Ragnarök (PlayStation)

God of War is one of Sony’s best franchises. After fighting all the Gods of Olympus and exploring Greek Mythology, Kratos disappeared for a few years only to make an unexpected comeback in 2018, this time with a son and facing off against Norse Gods. This soft reboot/sequel of the franchise by Santa Monica Studios was a huge success and ended on a cliffhanger. God Of War Ragnarök will pick up after this cliffhanger and promises, once again, epic fights as Kratos and his son will have to prevent Ragnarök (The Norse Mythology equivalent of the Apocalypse) and face iconic characters like Thor, the God of thunder and his father, Odin. New gameplay was showcased in the initial trailer, like the possibility to ride a sled with Huskies across frozen lakes.

God of War Ragnarrök is scheduled to come out on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 in 2022
