Last week’s The Game Awards 2019 was a big deal for Obsidian Entertainment and The Outer Worlds. While the RPG didn’t take home any awards, it was nominated across a number of categories with some other heavy hitters from this year. By way of thanks, Obsidian developers took to the game’s official forums to thank the community for its support and to drop this little tidbit of info.
Thank you, everyone, for your love and support over these last few years. You are all fantastic, and we are very grateful for every single one of you.
We want to take this time to share a special message regarding The Outer Worlds, from us to you: https://t.co/9HUBPihsWv pic.twitter.com/XhpRwG40LJ— Obsidian (@Obsidian) December 13, 2019
“However, the journey isn’t over yet as we are excited to announce that we will be expanding the story through DLC next year! Details will be made available at a later date.”
That was enough to twitterpate the fandom as they look for more adventures in Halcyon.
The game has garnered very positive reviews including our own 9.0 review from earlier this year.
“I think anybody that enjoyed playing the Fallout games, as well as anyone that has enjoyed the Mass Effect titles, would unequivocally enjoy their time playing The Outer Worlds. I had so much fun exploring every nook and cranny, scouring out-of-the-way locations for loot, taking everything that wasn’t nailed down, and immersing myself in the otherworldy locations around Halcyon.”
