The Minstrel is back to help prepare for another year of activity as The Rising begins in Final Fantasy XIV.
Players in Hydaelyn can put their woes and news of harder raids to one side with the return of The Rising and 11 years of grand adventure. Already ongoing and running until 11 September across PC and console, this celebration heralds the return of a familiar face too.
Players heading to the Upper Decks in LimsaLominsa will find the wandering minstrel. You’ll be able to help this visitor to the game. Brave adventurers are needed to help put the finishing touches to the year’s Rising festivities.
It’s hardly a grand quest, but like seasonal fare, this update adds in some tempting loot for very little effort. Anybody who manages to make it past the milestone of level 15 can participate in the new quest, rewarding players with a new minion and table decoration. You’ll also be able to snag a range of items from previous years by visiting the Rising vendor.
Anybody heading to help has until September 11, 2024 at 7:59 a.m. (PDT) to complete their quests, grab all the loot, and toast 11 years of Final Fantasy XIV Online. Initially launched to middling reception, the current incarnation of XIV underwent some serious reworks and growth ove the years, spanning a range of expansion that culminated in the recent Dawntrail expansion. That probably won’t be the last either. If you’re looking for a new MMO with a little more commitment and cute bunny people than the likes of Guild Wars 2 then this might be worth a look.
