The Sims 4 Trailer Champions Diversity & 10 Million Players

During last night’s EA Play event, The Sims 4 took a major slot with a brand new trailer celebrating diversity. Rather than developers speaking about all of the ways that players can truly create their own worlds, the team allowed its players to do so instead. The resulting video is moving and proves that representation is important.

In addition to the stunning video, Maxis also took time to announce that Sims 4 and all of its expansions have landed on Steam and is already available. Players can get their hands on the base game for $19.99 and all of the expansions/DLC/addons are also available. Purchasing the entire library will set you back nearly $600 even with most on sale for the launch of the game on Steam.

Lastly, EA revealed that nearly tenĀ million players engage with the game each and every month. In fact, over the past two months, over 2.5 million new players have joined up, doubtless as a result of stay-at-home orders in most countries due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

EA is vested in the success of the game. Since launch in 2014, the game and its expansions have been downloaded a whopping 30 million times and it has generated over $5 billion in revenue. The launch on Steam should boost those numbers even more over the coming years.
